Post Surgery Rehabilitation
If you recently had an Orthopaedic surgery to your shoulders, hips, knees, back, or any other joint or muscle, Physiotherapy can assist for optimal recovery.
Usually, your surgeon will give you a post-surgery protocol of instructions to follow. Please bring this to your session so our Physiotherapist can tailor a specific exercise program for you within those guidelines. We can also contact your specialist for those guidelines if you don’t have them with you.
The aim of post-surgery rehab is to ensure the fastest and safest possible return to your previous level of function and/or sport. Outcome measures are implemented to regularly to track rehabilitation progress. Set exercises are prepared to facilitate rehabilitation, which then would be progressed to more advanced levels as function improves.
Depending on your stage of rehab, manual therapies can also be used to alleviate any residual joint stiffness you may be experiencing months after the initial surgery.
